Inkworld (Output)

Woohoo, that was quite a bit of work. And believe me: the sewing didn´t take me half as long as it took me to edit the photos... Shirt and skirt are made with self-made patterns. The drawing on my hands is inspired by the creepy character of "Pan´s Labyrinth". I´m just the friendly version of it. At least I try to be... Hahaha!!!

The color of all possibilities (Output)

I went to the last life drawing session for this year on monday. After so much drawing I really should do one or two sewing projects till life drawing starts again. But first of all there´s something like christmas... Whatever we´re going to do on this day of the days.

Victorian spring at its best (Input)

As Melbourne is the capital of the beautiful state Victoria there are loads of cute little victorian buildings around. I lo-lo-lo-love this style combined with the lush exotique flora! I just have a pic of my favourite house (somewhere in Glen Eira) in this post and two pics of blooming trees, which you can see in every street, to give you an imagination of what spring (almost summer) in Melbourne is like. I also may introduce you to the amazing artwork of Colette Calascione. She does life drawing in a quite victorian style which is more than fitting to the topic of this and some of the previous posts. You can look her paintings up at her homepage as well which is:

More Life Drawing (Output)

Two more drawings I especially like and would love to share! And, oh my god, I spend ages colouring the pattern of the first drawing. I actually always hated painting by numbers where you neatly had to fill in section after section. At least I felt free in my choice of colour with this drawing :-)

Portraits (Output)

The first drawing shows el Björno who had the patience to sit an entire hour without moving against this tree.  Thx!
And the second picture is a portrait of Saku. The drawing doesn´t even show half of her beauty. Maybe I can get her volunteering again...

Now as I see it all on the blog I realize, how much input the former input post really hold for me. I thought it was all about the structure and the patterns. But it were actually the colours that influenced me. Bloody subconciousness!

Structures (Input)

Björn and I did a day trip to Philipp Island on monday where I could get some nature made (ehm,... apart from the wooden stairs, of course) input. I like especially the structures of the rocks. One point on my to-do-list is to create a colourful pattern inspired by them.
I´m uploadinng new pictures of drawings tomorrow, by the way.

Private Pyjama Party (Output)

Do you remember the fabric from one of the former posts? I made a pyjama from it as promised. We had a quite funny photo shooting in a plane tree. You won´t believe how sleek the bark is...

Bazaar (Input)

Finally I edited the pictures of the Bazaar store I took the other day. Bazaar is a huge, massive, gigantic and wonderful store full with vintage clothes, jewellery, furniture... And a vintage sewing supplies section that makes my little Anne-heart beat faster. I got the green lace on the skirt from the saturday post from Bazaar for example. I also found the awesome rose scarf but my number one shopping hit is the sewing magazine from the 80s with patterns from the 70s. How gorgeous is that??? It´s actually one basic pattern in there, but with so many descriptions for alterations that you can make basically everthing from it. And believe me: I will!

Life Drawing (Output)

I attend an untutored life drawing course every Thursday. These are my favourite drawings from the last two sessions. You know the first drawing already. It´s the developed version from the post of 17 November. The other two are from last week.

Library shooting (Output)

I know, Iknow... I promissed the pictures last week already. But now, finally, here they are! As it´s raining cats and dogs and my third big passion after sewing and drawing is reading, we decided to set the photoshooting in the St. Kilda library. And it makes me looking quite intellectual as well, doesn´t it?
By the way: one of my housemates called me Maggie Simpson when I went out in my yellow tights.

The dress is made of wonderful jersey and it feels sooo good!!!

The skirt comes with pockets, a petticoat, lace and a zip at the side.
The dress and the skirt are done with self made patterns.
Yippie ya yeah, sewing and wearing self made clothes makes me happy!

Drawing, drawing, drawing...

It´s not all just about sewing. I´m practising drawing as well and slowly I can see an improvement I´m willing to share with the world. First picture is a drawing of Björn. Unfinished unfurtunately, because he couldn´t lie in this position anymore.

The second one is a drawing of the old Flinders Street Station. I sat there for about four hours and am still not finished yet. I´ll go back next week to complete yesterdays work.

And last but not least there´s beautiful Luna. The life drawing model from yesterday. She was so good! It´s a 20 minute drawing.

Looking for Koalas (Output)

But, ah, there aren´t any around in St. Kilda. But still, climbing is more fashionable in a cool Shirt, isn´t it!?
I made this one for Börn last week.By the way, if you click on the link below you can see some Australia pictures Björn loads up on his website. So, have fun!

Inspirational St. Kida (Input)

As I live in St. Kilda, one of Melbournes most gorgeous suburbs, I get actually loads of input everyday. St. Kilda doesn´t just supply funny figueres on roof tops like the ones below but also lots of garage sales. I got about two meters of the funny pink squared fabric for just one (!) AUD. That´s what I call a bargain... I´m about sewing a pyjama from it. New pictures of sewing projects shall be uploaded at the weekend.

Freedom is magic (output)

last two days work

Prahran street art (input)

Time to load up some input as well. Went out today looking for a part time job. Though I don´t feel like working at all, but hey, it´s all about bloody money... Maybe that´s the reason why I found myself taking pictures on every street corner instead... Here are my three favourite ones.

By the way, I did get rid of two CVs.

30°C (output)

It was an awesome day yesterday. Sun, beach, BBQ and a brief photosession... The Sky-Shirt, the orange panties and the striped top are all done with selfmade patterns. And finally I managed to find a cheap fabric store in Melbourne with pretty good quality fabrics.

Doesn´t the shirt look like a piece of sky itself? and believe me: it feels like it as well! It´s such a light and soft fabric... When it wasn´t about all the sweating under the boiling sun, I would never ever take it off again.

Uhoo, now as I figuered out, how to do panties, I can use all my leftover fabrics.
Did the top this week, too. I also made a skirt on Wednesday, but hey,I simply can´t take a suitcase on my bike to the beach...
Friends back home in Germany: Don´t let the autumn get you! Enjoy the extra portion of colour and sun you receive from this blog. What kind of clothes do you wear or make at the moment? Warmer stuff I reckon ;o)

Mirror (output)

I bought new colours last week (acrylilc ink - never heard of something like that ever before) and had to try them straight away. That´s a five minute self portrait of my fabulous me :-)
I wasn´t lazy the last few days. Sewed quite a few things but didn´t take any photos of them yet. It´s gonna be 30°C at the weekend so there´s a good chance of a photosession happening on the beach!

Adelaide (output)

...to get everybody in a spring/ summer kind-of-mood... :)
We went to Adelaide the previous few days and took new pics of the shirt and the trousers I made.
Shirt pattern is from the CUT Magazine and the trousers are made after a pattern of the Burda easy (H/W 2011).

First pics online... (output)

Heyho blogger world,
now there are the first pics online of the garments I´d sewn over the last few months. More clothes are still in my wardrobe just waiting for a sunny day and a photoshooting. Woohoo, I´m online!

By the way, nearly all clothes are done with self-made patterns. Apart from the turquoise leggins. I used a CUT pattern for them. You can download it here: http://www.cut-magazine.com/wp-content/uploads/Schnittbogen_Leggings.pdf
Best thing: it´s for free!!!
